We could all do with having some extra money in the bank each month, and, if we were really honest with ourselves, we’d probably admit that we could do with being a little bit healthier too. Unfortunately, most people assume these goals to be mutually exclusive. After all, with celebrity diets, gym memberships, and more, a healthy lifestyle is an expensive one, right? Thankfully, not. Here are six habits that can boost your health and bank balance at the same time.

1. Cook Your Own Meals

Ordering a takeaway or eating a restaurant might be a nice treat now and then, but you should keep it from becoming a regular occurence. Not only can it be quite expensive, but it isn’t a very healthy option either. For this reason, you should try cooking your own meals instead. If you shop around for ingredients and stick to a meal plan, you can improve your health and your finances.

2. Write A Food Diary

Cooking your own food doesn’t automatically make that food healthy, especially on days where you ditch your meal plan to prepare a more convenient dish. Writing a food diary can help you to stick to the healthy meals that you have planned. It holds you accountable and makes you face exactly what you’ve been eating. Writing your own food blog would work in the same way.

3. Kick That Smoking Habit

As important as it is to develop healthy habits, it’s just as vital, if not more so, to ditch the unhealthy ones too. If you smoke cigarettes, then switching to vaping can help you to wean yourself off them. This habit is much cheaper than smoking anyway, but the site Vaping Cheap allows you to cut costs even further. Once you’ve quit, you’ll also face fewer health issues.

4. Schedule Regular Preventative Checkups

When you have an increasingly busy schedule, attending a checkup with your doctor or dentist can seem like a waste of time, especially when you feel healthy and sickness free. However, many health problems can go undetected for quite some time. Attending regular preventative checkups allows your doctor to detect these issues earlier, saving you from costly medical bills.

5. Make Time For Exercise

Exercise is necessary for good overall health. As well as helping you to burn fat and maintain a healthy weight, it also prevents a number of potentially costly health problems. This is why it’s so crucial that you make time for exercise no matter how busy your schedule may be. Instead of splashing out on expensive gym memberships, you could try working out for free at home.

6. Go To Bed Earlier

The better you sleep, the healthier you will be. This is one of the many reasons why you should develop healthy sleep habits and get into a regular bedtime routine. Sleeping for longer also means that you use less food, water, and electricity, as you need none of these things while you sleep. Those who sleep for longer are also known to be much safer drivers.

Good financial health and good overall health are not mutually exclusive. With the tips above, you can easily boost your fitness and finances at the same time.

I am a Wife, Mother of Three Children, and Caregiver to my Grandmother. I started couponing, with the direction of my Best Friend Christina. She showed me the “Ins and Outs” and total benefits of using coupons. In just a few months of couponing I was able to produce a stock-pile of Diapers, wipes and other Toiletries. I can remember thinking to myself that I was a fool, paying full price for things like Toothpaste when you can get it for Free. After couponing for 5 years now, I have saved my family hundreds of dollars a month. We no longer need to run to the store if we run out of toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. After years of experience, I wanted to be able to share it with other people and help them also save money.
